BIOCREDIT CEA

One Step Carcinoembryonic Antigen Test

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a glycoprotein that is normally observed in fetal growth. After birth, the level in blood is steadily decreased to an undetectable level when people are grown up. However, CEA may increase in the presence of tumors such as colon cancer, liver cancer, and lung cancer. Therefore, CEA is a tumor-associated antigen that is expressed largely in gastrointestinal tract tumors.
